Church of Ireland Historical Society – Christ Church Cathedral and the Huguenots 2016

Next Saturday, the 23rd April, sees the Church of Ireland Historical Society’s first conference of the year in Armagh Public Lectures. There will be various speakers including Ms. Valerie Adams, Mr Ruairí Cullen, Dr. Jane McKee and Mr. Colin Armstrong. Of particular note  will be a lecture given by Dr. Jane McKee at 14.00 on Peter Drelincourt, a former precentor of Christ Church Cathedral, entitled ‘Peter Drelincourt (1644 – 1722): his Huguenot background and his early career in Ireland.’

12pm Mr Ruairí Cullen, ‘George T. Stokes and the oriental origins of Irish Christianity’ [Research Paper]

12.45pm Lunch

2pm Dr Jane McKee, ‘Peter Drelincourt (1644-1722): his Huguenot background and early career in Ireland’

3pm Mr Colin Armstrong, ‘A Laudian in Ulster: the Irish career of Bishop Jeremy Taylor, 1658-67′

This includes admission to bi-annual conferences, lunch, book discounts, and exclusive access to the Society’s podcasts. Non-members are welcome. They are asked to subscribe £7 or €10 to assist with conference expenses (lunch not included).
