Please join us for a very special choral evensong on Sunday 13th November at 3.30pm to celebrate the Eve of the Feast of St. Laurence O’Toole and to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the unification of the Dioceses of Dublin & Glendalough.
The occasion will also promote Christian unity. To mark this the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, Diarmuid Martin, and the choir of St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral will join us with the Church of Ireland’s Archbishop of Dublin, Michael Jackson, and the Choir of Christ Church Cathedral to celebrate a truly special occasion.
There will be world premieres of several new pieces; the anthem ‘Omni Opere’ by acclaimed international composer David Bednall and ‘Two Hymns to St. Laurence’ versified from the thirteenth century ‘Vita of St. Laurence’ by one of our own Canons, John Bartlett.
This will be a special service of celebration of history and Christian unity and all are very welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the crypt.
