Seven Words: Reflections on the final life-giving words of Jesus
Holy Week is one of the most significant times of the church year. It is a time that sees churches filled with prayer and special services day-by-day, preparing for the great celebration of Easter. This year saw a very different dynamic introduced into our Holy Week observance: coronavirus. Global pandemic mandated the closure of churches for gatherings of public worship. However this did not stop Holy Week happening, it simply meant that it happened in a different way.
This year, as we were forced to focus on sharing in prayer remotely, the Dean prepared a fresh and timely series of Reflections for Good Friday. We have gathered these together into a small collection entitled Seven Words: Reflections on the final life-giving words of Jesus. These reflections touch on themes of forgiveness, healing, suffering and grace.
