American Spring 9 March 2013

We are delighted to welcome back the Dublin Symphony Orchestra to Christ Church Cathedral on the 9th of March at 8pm. One of Ireland’s leading non-professional ensembles, is set to present a full American Program in the intimate surrounds of Christ Church Cathedral. This concert will include 20th Century music from American composers as well as an American soloist, Alexander Bernstein. Alexander is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music under Dr. John O’ Conor. Our conductor for this program is John Doyle, one of Dublin’s most exciting young conductors.

The Program is set to include:

Jerome Moross: The Big Country

George Gershwin: Piano Concerto in F

(Soloist: Alexander Bernstein)

Aaron Copland: Rodeo

Aaron Copland: Billy the Kid

This concert is the perfect opportunity to see how classical music can bring together all ages and nationalities both in the orchestra and the audience. It is also a great way to visit one of Dublin’s most impressive cathedral. Join us from all countries for this exciting moment of music and help us provide an Irish platform for upcoming soloists, conductors and composers across the world.
