Past Choristers Prepare to Perform in Christ Church Cathedral Next Month
All past choristers of Christ Church Cathedral are invited to participate in the Sunday services which the Past Choristers Association will sing onSunday August 25. Well known favourite music to be sung will include for the Eucharist in the morning: Stanford in C & F and the Mozart ‘Ave verum corpus’, while at Evensong in the afternoon the music will include Morley’s ‘Fauxbourdons’ and Brahms’ ‘How lovely are thy dwellings fair’.
There will be a short rehearsal the day before (Saturday August 24) and Jean Finch will conduct, with Donna Magee, Organ Scholar, accompanying on the organ. This contribution follows the third annual reunion of the Past Choristers which took place in June. Alongside present members of the Cathedral Choir, over 20 past choristers representing six decades of choir membership participated in a workshop followed by evensong led by Ian Keating, Musical Director.
A wine reception hosted by the Dean, the Very Revd Dermot Dunne, took place after the service. If you would like to participate in the services on August 25, please get in touch with Victor Coe, Email: ei.budccc@sretsirohctsap or Mobile 086 810 2965
