Christ Church Community Chorus are project-based choir who meet once a week in the lead-up to performances at the Cathedral. Anyone can join!
You don’t have to be able to read music or be an experienced singer. It’s completely free and you can sign up on a project-by-project basis. The only requirement for membership is that you’re willing to have a go.
The choir is led by a music team of dedicated, experienced professionals who will make you feel welcome and at ease. The choir’s aim is to make high-quality, enjoyable music-making at the Cathedral open to everyone.
Christ Church Community Chorus’ project this term will be a foray into the colourful world of opera: we will perform Henry Purcell’s tragic Dido and Aeneas on April 13th. With a stellar cast of soloists and chorus parts which include witches, sailors, and revelling courtiers, this promises to be an entertaining and enlightening project.
Rehearsals start on 14th January and the concert will be at 8pm on April 13th.
No experience is necessary to sign up and all are very welcome. Rehearsals happen on Tuesdays 19:30-21:30, with music and refreshments provided. The first rehearsal will be an Open Rehearsal, so you can come and try us out with no commitment necessary.
