“Two different community choirs will entertain you tonight with a diversity of songs from spiritual, classical to modern! Sycamore Community Singers are from Cincinnati, Ohio USA and the local Ranelagh Singers.
The Sycamore Community Singers, a multi-aged, auditioned, adult volunteer community choir was founded in 2016 under the direction of Linda Gartner. Upon her retirement from Sycamore Junior High as choral director for 34 years, Gartner continues to live out her passion for choral music as she gives back to our community at large. Our 115-member choir (about 50 will perform tonight!) ranging from novice to highly-trained singers perform a varied repertoire of secular and sacred choral music.
Combining another of Gartner’s passions, group travel, a sub-group of this choir traveled and performed in Germany and Austria in the spring of 2018.
After the world-wide pause of live choir music in 2020-2021, the choir resumed rehearsals in August 2021 at Sycamore Presbyterian Church and are looking forward to finally perform this summer in Ireland & Scotland.
