The Goethe Choir presents its 2022 spring concert in Christ Church cathedral, Dublin, with the theme Dona Nobis Pacem.
Following our resumption of normal rehearsals earlier in the year we are delighted to announce our return to the Dublin concert scene after an absence of over two years with our Spring Concert for 2022, which will be taking place at 8pm on Sunday 24th April in Christ Church cathedral in Dublin. The programme will consist of a range of choral and instrumental works by composers including Bach, Eccard, Fauré and Telemann, ending in a performance of the final chorus from Bach’s glorious B minor mass – ‘Dona Nobis Pacem’ – which gives our concert its very appropriate title.
Tickets cost €20 (€15 for students and unwaged) and may be obtained via choir members or booked online via Eventbrite at https://bit.ly/3DbZneP. Tickets unsold in advance will be available for purchase at the door.
The programme will consist of:
Georg Philipp Telemann Selection from Telemann Concerto in D (54:D4) for 3 Clarini, Timpani and Organ
Johann Sebastian Bach Tönet, ihr Pauken! Erschallet, Trompeten BWV214
John Dexter Rhapsody and Dance for oboe and organ
Johannes Eccard Maria wallt zum Heiligtum
Johann Sebastian Bach Jesu bleibet meine Freude BWV 147
Gabriel Fauré Cantique de Jean Racine, op. 11
Johann Sebastian Bach Dona nobis pacem from B Minor Mass BWV 232
