Our Savior Lutheran Choir from St Charles Missouri, USA is travelling to Ireland with a group of 26 singers, under direction of Scott Taylor.
After performing in Kylemore, Killarney and Cork, their final performance will be in Christ Church Cathedral Dublin.

The Our Savior Lutheran Choir is a group of singers who sing for worship during the year. In recent years, the choir has enjoyed multiple tours to Europe performing in Germany, Ireland and Italy. Our Savior Lutheran was organized in 1949 and has served St. Charles for nearly 75 years. St. Charles, located near St. Louis, MO, was founded in 1769 as Les Petites Cotes (“The Little Hills”) by French Canadian fur trader Louis Blanchette. In 1804, on the banks of the mighty Missouri River, the famous explorers Lewis and Clark met here to begin their westward expedition. Shortly thereafter, the city became known as “Saint Charles.”
Scott Taylor, choral director, has directed church choirs for 42 years. Scott received his Bachelor Degree in Music Education from Chapman University in Orange, California, a Masters Degree in School Administration from the U. of Missouri, St. Louis, and a Specialist Degree in School Admin from the U. of Missouri, Columbia. Scott retired after spending 32 years as a teacher and principal.
Billie Derham has taught piano for over 45 years. Ms. Derham graduated from Lindenwood College with a B.M. and Southern Illinois U. at Edwardsville where she was a student of pianist Ruth Slenczynska. She also did doctoral work at UMKC. Ms. Derham is accompanist for the Concert Choir of the St. Louis Children’s Choirs and performed with them at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the White House, and on European tours. Ms. Derham is the organist/pianist at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Admission to the recital is included in the cathedral’s normal entrance fee.
