The Groton School is a private, coeducational boarding and day school located in Groton, Massachusetts (USA), a short distance outside of Boston. Founded in 1884, the
school offers a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum and emphasizes character, scholarship, leadership, and service. The Groton School welcomes students from all over the world, fostering a globally inclusive and supportive environment where students thrive academically and personally.
Groton School Choir is one of the most advanced high school singing groups in New England. The choir performs regularly in the school's historic Benton Chapel, accompanied by the Aeolian-Skinner organ, in solo concerts as well as at weekly church services, holiday services such as their annual Lessons & Carols, and school events. Their repertoire includes both Western Classical tradition, liturgical, and contemporary global music. The choir's members come from diverse backgrounds and bring with them a wide range of musical experiences and talents. They are supported by Groton's highly skilled music faculty, who have studied at some of the finest music institutions in the world and have performed in renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House.
In addition to their local performances, the choir partakes in Groton's Global Education Opportunities (GEO) program, a program to help students understand cultural, socioeconomic, and political disparities throughout the world where the communities visited are not backdrops to the student experience, but rather full partners in their endeavors. It is through this lense that the Groton School Choir embarks on their 2025 concert tour to Ireland and the United Kingdom. Recent tours have taken Groton’s music ensembles to countries like Japan, Italy, Slovenia, Czechia, Germany, and Austria, where they engage in musical and cultural exchanges and experiences.
