The Most Reverend Dr Donald Caird, formerly archbishop of Dublin and bishop of Glendalough, having previously served as bishop of Limerick and Killaloe and bishop of Meath and Kildare, died peacefully in the early hours of this morning. Our prayers and our thoughts are with his wife Nancy and with his family. Archbishop Caird’s funeral will take place here in Christ Church Cathedral at 11am on Monday 5 June. The cathedral will be closed to visitors on Monday until lunchtime.
