Christ Church Cathedral is delighted to announce A Song For Barretstown, featuring Joyce Murphy and the Girl Choristers of Christ Church Cathedral Please share this video on Facebook and Twitter to raise awareness of the Barretstown fundraising campaign. The Girls’ Choir of Christ Church Cathedral, which was re-founded in January 2013, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Barretstown Children’s Charity. Barretstown was founded by Hollywood actor Paul Newman in 1994 and modelled on his renowned Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut, USA. Each year it costs €4.5 million to run the programmes at Barretstown. Children and families don’t pay a cent and all their travel costs, accommodation, food, medical care and activities are provided free of charge.
And it’s YOU that makes the difference. Our cathedral choristers have recorded a song with singer Joyce Murphy who attended a family camp at Barretstown after her sister Rachel died of cancer in 2004. Please help us to publicise the song and raise money for the outstanding work of this charity that supports children with serious illness, primarily cancer and serious blood diseases. The song was recorded at The Button Factory, Temple Bar and at Barretstown on Saturday 8 February, 2014.
Officially launched by President Higgins at Barretstown, every time the song is played on local radio and television stations money will be donated to help support the work of this wonderful charity. The song will be released on iTunes on Friday 21st February.
