Make a visit to Christ Church Cathedral part of your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and embark on a journey through history in Dublin’s spiritual heart.
Located in the heart of Dublin city centre, Christ Church was originally a Viking church and has been welcoming pilgrims and visitors for almost 1,000 years. This working Anglican cathedral is an architectural masterpiece, evident from the moment you enter the magnificent Nave with its vaulted ceilings and medieval tiled floor.
Dig a little deeper to find the crypt, the city’s oldest working structure, or climb higher into our belfry and discover our world-famous bells. Hidden treasures are waiting to be discovered around every corner: Strongbow’s final resting place, the heart of St. Laurence O’Toole, a rare copy of the Magna Carta and our famous mummified cat and rat.
The St. Patrick’s Day Festival Parade passes right by Christ Church Cathedral, with grandstands 16-17 offering a prime view of the celebrations.
The parade begins at 12:00 noon, and due to road closures, the cathedral will open for visiting once the parade has ended and access is restored.
Admission includes a self-guided tour of the cathedral & crypt, and an audio guide. Plus, visitors dressed in green will receive a special 10% discount—available onsite only!
