Today we welcome Washburn University Chorus to perform a lunchtime recital at 13:30. Admission to the recital is included in the usual cathedral entry.
Keith H. Walker, Music Director
Keith holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Augusta University. He has served as music director for churches in South Carolina, Georgia, and Missouri. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Keith is currently the Director of Music Ministries at Northside Drive Baptist Church. In addition, he is the Music Director of the Festival Singers of Atlanta. Since January 2022, he has served as the conductor of the Perimeter College Chorus on the Clarkston Campus of Georgia State University. He has served as the Repertoire and Resources Chair for Community Choirs for the Georgia Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. He currently serves as an at-large board member of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He also serves as President of the Thursday Morning Music Club in Atlanta.
For five seasons, he served as Music Director of the DeKalb Choral Guild. For six years, he served on the faculty of Darton State College (now Albany State University, Albany, GA) where he taught applied voice and directed the college choir and vocal ensemble. For four seasons, he served as the Artistic Director for the Albany Chorale. He maintains a teaching studio offering applied voice lessons.
