As someone who's never been to Christ Church before, I wasn't sure what to expect, but everyone was so welcoming and friendly, I really felt like I was part of a community. It was the most 'Christmassy' thing that I did. It was nice to see that the original meaning of Christmas still exists.

For the last two Christmas seasons, I have had the privilege of playing the Angel Gabriel. It has been a great experience, with a wonderful cosmopolitan cast, and thoughtful production values and narrative. What started as a necessity to hold the event outdoors due to the Covid-19 Pandemic will now, I believe, become an important tradition of the City of Dublin, and a brilliant way of bringing the living, core message of Christmas to all.

In 2020 our Live Outdoor Nativity it was the cathedral’s attempt to offer a Covid-safe seasonal presentation in anticipation of the celebration of Christmas. It was so well-received we decided to offer the programme again in 2021! With a soundtrack of music sung by our cathedral choir and the simple, powerful text of the Nativity story from the Gospel according to Luke, guests walk through the cathedral grounds and follow Mary and Joseph on their journey to Bethlehem. It is an engaging way to experience the Nativity story suitable for all ages.
