The Dean and Board of Christ Church Cathedral are pleased to announce the appointment of the cathedral’s new Head of Operations: Mr Mark Traynor.
Mr Traynor brings to this appointment a wealth of operational and organisational leadership experience. He has served as the Managing Director of the James Joyce Cultural Centre for seven years and has been coordinator of the annual Bloomsday Festival in Dublin since 2013. He also has curated a number of cultural projects, both in Ireland and abroad, most recently overseeing an Irish cultural festival in the city of Donostia/San Sebastian as part of their 2016 European Capital of Culture programme. He is a graduate of IADT, Dún Laoghaire, and the University of Leicester. Passionate about Dublin’s history and culture, Mr Traynor is co-author of Written in My Heart: Walks through James Joyce’s Dublin, published by The O’Brien Press in 2016.
Remarking on the appointment, the Very Revd Dermot Dunne, Dean, said: ‘I am very happy to welcome Mark Traynor to the staff of the cathedral as he takes up his post as Head of Operations. Mark brings to his role a lot of experience and an enthusiasm for all that is associated with Dublin’s life and culture. I wish him every blessing as he begins a new chapter in his life with us.’
Mr Traynor is due to take up his position in early October.
