This Saturday’s lunchtime concert will be given by the wonderful Scottish choir, A Choired Taste.
Condcuted by Liam Baillie and accompanied by Alistair Peter, A Choired Taste is a mixed-voice community choir based in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire with almost 70 members who come from all walks of life. They sing a wide variety of music including sacred, folk, musicals, pop, ballads, movie music, classical, opera, spirituals and light jazz. They are a friendly group of people who love to sing while raising money for local and national charities. They have donated over €39,000 to charity since their founding in 2009 and continue to thrive in our fundraising.
A Choired Taste is proud of all its achievements – they have won the trophy for Overall Best Adult Choir at the Ayrshire Music Festival for the past 5 years, and this year, also won the award for Best Choral Performance of the entire festival. Also this year, they entered the Glasgow Musical Festival, where as well as winning our class (Adult Mixed Voice Choirs), they were thrilled to also be awarded the Glasgow Orpheus Trophy for Best Overall Choir.
This concert is part of their third concert tour, during which they will be performing three concerts: Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin; St Anneâs Cathedral, Belfast; and Killead Presbyterian Church.
They appreciate all donations given, and invite all audience members to donate to help them in our work and their fundraising, by going to their website (www.achoiredtaste.co.uk) and clicking the ‘Donate link’.
