About the Choir of Christ Church Cathedral

With roots dating back to 1493, the Choir of Christ Church Cathedral is one of Ireland’s finest choirs. Highly regarded in Dublin’s musical life, the choir has a rich history, having participated in the very first performance of Handel’s Messiah in 1742. Their repertoire spans over five centuries, and they’ve performed many commissioned works. The choir sings four services a week and is often in demand for television and radio broadcasts in both the UK and Ireland, including BBC Radio 3’s iconic Choral Evensong and RTÉ’s Sunday Worship.
